'Three Wishes' project.
Over Easter we were required to spend a while reflecting and thinking about what we'd choose if we were offered three wishes. Of course, choosing something along the lines of winning the Lottery simply lacks imagination and thought (although, don't misunderstand me, if I did happen to win the Lottery I wouldn't turn down the money!)
So, after a bit of mind mapping, I decided to begin with a very personal wish. I've always longed to have two lovely symmetrical arms. What a ridiculous wish, you may say, who would be envious of arms?! Well, believe it or not, I am.
As you can see from the above illustrations, I have drawn my arm as I view it - albeit slightly exaggerated. I have also included my two scars, or 'scarf' as the one was commonly known when I was younger and failed to pronounce it correctly.
I have shown illustrated depictions of my friends in the background, to imply that regardless of the physical appearance of my arm, my friends do not see me any other way - in other words, even if I was 'normal' they'd still be the same lovely friends.
During my critique, my tutor suggested that I could have reconsidered the composition of the two pieces, and perhaps made them into one - maybe a mirror image? Which would illustrate conflicting thoughts and feelings...
...something to bear in mind, I think.
